M&A WATCHING REPORT [WEEK 26/08-30/08/2024]: HOW ARE FUNDRAISING AND IPOs IN THE FINANCIAL MARKET?

In business, a company can operate stably in the long term and develop strongly if it participates in both the business market and the financial market. These two markets are likened to a company walking on two legs in the process of its operations.

The business market can be simply understood as the place where the buying and selling of goods and services occur between consumers and suppliers. Suppliers usually participate in this market in the form of a specific enterprise (limited liability company, joint-stock company, private enterprise, etc.), depending on the laws of the host country.

Regarding the financial market, this is the place where transactions related to financial assets such as stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments take place, helping businesses to raise capital for business development, thereby providing opportunities for strong growth and competition with rivals. The most popular financial market is the stock market, where transactions of various securities including stocks, bonds, or other valuable papers are conducted.

Businesses often turn to the financial market to raise capital for their business activities, and one of the most common ways for businesses to raise funds is to issue shares to the public for the first time (IPO).
